We arrived at school on Monday morning to find some footprints and a huge Teddy Bear in our classroom! We decided to investigate this mystery by collecting evidence to answer our questions. We made hand and footprints from everyone at kindy. We found they did not match the mystery prints. The visitor was not a person! The next part of our investigation was to read a text about Australian Animal tracks. We found that none of these tracks matched the prints. We could rule out an Australian animal as the mystery visitor! Meanwhile we were taking good care of Teddy Bear. We decided to make LOST posters to see if anyone recognised Teddy as he would be missing his owner. Another source of information for us was the Web. So we went online to find out more about tracks made by other animals. We found the closest match were tracks of a bear! Things got very fluffy when we came to kindy one day to find fluffy stuff around the classroom! The mystery visitor had returned for another sticky beak! We studied the fluff under a computer microscope and with hand lenses. It seems that our visitor is fluffy! Mrs Fleming had put out some ingredients for cooking Honey Joys the next day. Someone helped themselves to the honey and left a sticky paw print behind! Our visitor likes to eat honey! The mystery was solved when we came to kindy and found that Teddy Bear was gone and a basket of letters was left for us! They were from a bear called Charlie! He had been visiting our classroom and had left his Teddy behind. Phew! Mystery solved! Our evidence had been on the right track!
