“FROZEN” has made its way into Kindy this term, along with “The Lego Factory”.
Both of these areas grew from the children’s special interests and has had them fully engaged since our doors opened!
“Frozen” land has been visited by many beautiful Princesses and there have been sightings of Kristoff too!
Our sensory bins have been in constant use as the items are sorted and used for story telling.
The Lego Factory workers have been flat out making and testing construction designs.
Work safe habits have been employed with the wearing of safety helmets while construction is carried out. The workers are a very agreeable lot, sharing materials, ideas and work spaces happliy!
We started some Chemical Science investigations with mixing ingredients to make “Snow” and to grow snowflake crystals.
We hypothesised about the changes in the ingredients and shared our ideas on what we had observed.
Our ice cutters have been very busy chipping away at huge blocks of ice with hammers, making sure their eyes are protected with safety goggles. Kristoff may be interested in hiring some of these hard workers!
We are very fortunate to have Silk Worms to look after this term as part of our Religious Education unit on “Creepy Crawlies”.
Stay tuned to find out how they grow and change!
