1st Holy Communion Mass Register & Workshop
All children preparing to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (generally Year 3), First Eucharist (generally Year 4) or Confirmation (generally Year 6) in 2015 are required to attend one of the Parish Sacramental Commitment Masses. These masses will be celebrated over the weekends of the 14 & 15 March and the 21 & 22 March 2015. Saturday evening mass begins at 6.30pm with Sunday masses being held at 9am and 5pm. Further details will be provided when school returns.
Last week Sr Margaret Mary and Father Robert were invited along to share some of their earliest memories and stories about the beginnings of our school and parish community. We are now working on using this recording to assist us in documenting our school’s faith story.
It was such a privilege to listen to two good friends and colleagues, who were both instrumental in establishing St Emilie’s, reminiscing and looking back with such genuine affection and pride. They both said that St Emilie’s was always built upon a vision of being ‘a Christ-centred and welcoming place’.
In God’s grace, we look forward to continuing the good work of all those who have gone before us.
Congratulations to all those children from Year Three who received their First Reconciliation last Thursday evening. It is certainly very comforting to know, that especially when we have lost our way, God searches high and low for us until he finds us … and that when he finds us, he celebrates our return!
As families, may we continue to pray for the courage and the wisdom that it takes to be people of daily forgiveness and unconditional love with all we meet.
This Thursday evening the 3rd April, 6.30pm – 7.30pm, Year Three children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the very first time. Families and parishioners will also participate in this liturgy of the Second Rite as personal and communal preparation for the joy of Easter Sunday, when we celebrate Jesus conquering death and rising to New Life. Please keep our Year Three’s and their families in your prayers as they take time out of the busyness to reflect upon their need for healing and peace.
