The Year Two Gold class has been busy working in teams to bring our stories of ‘Mr Owl the Hero!’ to life!
With the use of the PuppetPals app on the iPads, we have been able to create our own characters and backdrops, as well as take turns practising our storytelling skills.
We can’t wait to share our narratives with our families at the 3 Way Interviews in Week 6!
Look forward to seeing you then!
One of the Australian Curriculum Numeracy standards in Year 2 is to be able to identify everyday events that involve chance. To this end, the students have been using language such as ‘likely’ or ‘unlikely’ and ‘possible’ or ‘impossible’ to describe possible outcomes during a range of experiments.
This week we have been exploring the concept of chance by using everyday items such as coins and dice to help us see what the chances were of flipping ‘tails’ ten times in a minute or rolling a ‘6’ five times in a minute.
We are still very curious to find out how chance works. We wonder if we’ll ever know? 🙂
We have begun learning about the structure and features of narratives. We are currently working together to create our own story about the adventures of ‘Theodore the Thinking Dragon’ and ‘Mr Owl’! It has been so much fun planning and sharing ideas and we can’t wait to bring our story to life! Stay tuned!
