Numbers to 10,000 Washing Line
What was the activity?
This week we wrote a number on a post it note and pegged them onto the washing line. – Jordan
Instead of putting the post it notes on a real washing line, we put them on a big line of blue string that hung across the classroom. – Joshua J
We put the numbers in order one person at a time. Then at the end we spent some time moving the numbers around. – Michael
How did we go?
This activity was tricky because the string had no number at all on it except for 100 and 10000! – Jemma
We had to guess where the number went which was tricky. – Joshua P
The numbers were spread out everywhere so you really had to think about where we were going to put our number. – Noel
It was quite fiddly and we found that there was a very empty middle part of the washing line. – Heather
What did we learn from this activity?
This activity was challenging because we had no numbers to guide us. – Imogen
We learnt what order big numbers go, above 1000 and all the way to 10000. – Loren
The numbers close to your number on the post it note can help you to figure out where yours goes. – Kesia
