This term we have been learning about our
( or necessities)
We worked with a partner and we started off with a $100 budget for each day. Olivia
At the start of the day we were given $100 and we had to pay some necessities or ‘bills’. If we wanted to we could purchase some wants throughout the day. Taj
We had to pay for infringements if we were fined for making poor choices like talking out of turn or not sitting on our chair properly. Luca
We had to make sure that when it was the end of the day, we hadn’t gone over budget. If we didn’t go over budget then that means we are people who save money rather than spend it all or over-spend! Georgia
We could choose from a few wants throughout the day. For example, outside brain breaks, 10 minutes of free time, working outside for 15 minutes, and lunchtime in the classroom. Jenna
What important lessons did we learn from this task?
We learnt that when you are older you might need to budget so you won’t spend more money than you are supposed to spend. Megan
I learnt that when you have a budget you wont buy lots of stuff, you only have a certain amount of money. If you buy too many things that you want you wont have enough money left over to pay for what you need. Mia
How can we use what we have learnt in the future?
If you go over budget in the future when you are an adult, you wont be able to pay for all of your bills and feed your family to keep them healthy. Jy
It would be hard to stay under your budget if you want a really nice house or car. Amali
This is us planning our spending with our partners, having a brain break, and filling out our receipt books.
