In Religion we have been discussing the different human qualities that Jesus showed, such as courage, honesty, compassion and kindness. We also brainstormed ways we show kindness to others in our everyday lives…
Year 5 students were lucky enough to have Brodie from Bunnings visit their class this week and teach them a few handy skills about carpentry in preparation for a surprise Father’s Day pressie! We now know how to hold a hammer, bang nails into wood (without hitting our fingers) and work as a team to make sure pieces are in joined in the right place. We are all super excited about sharing our secret something with our Dads on Father’s Day! Shhhhhh….
Students don’t forget your plate photo for next week!
We are having our own Science week here at St Emilie’s in week 8. The 2014 topic is ‘Science Feeding the World’. Both Health and Science will be doing extra activities with the students in week 8. Mr Davis will be doing an activity with year 5 about where our food is sourced from. Each year 5 student is to bring to school a photograph of their evening meal. So sometime between now and week 8 choose one of your favourite dinners, take a photograph of it and then print it out ready to bring to school. The students are not required to bring their photos until week 8.
