Congratulations to all those children from Year Three who received their First Reconciliation last Thursday evening. It is certainly very comforting to know, that especially when we have lost our way, God searches high and low for us until he finds us … and that when he finds us, he celebrates our return!
As families, may we continue to pray for the courage and the wisdom that it takes to be people of daily forgiveness and unconditional love with all we meet.
At 10.29am a BIG CONSPIRACY between students and a few very select staff ( NOT TEACHERS!) was unveiled on April Fools Day at St Emilie’s! Just as teachers from Years 1-6 were finishing lessons, the song ‘Stop Right Now’ by the Spice Girls was played over the school PA system and children suddenly jumped up and performed a class flash dance, much to the shock, amazement and confusion of teachers … the dawning realisation that it was a whole school April Fool’s joke soon led to much laughter (and relief, as teachers realised the significance of the date!) Mrs Aroozoo’s four students certainly put a super delighted smile on her face! Well done children – you were awesome and you kept such a great secret! Loved it! I also loved how the kids doing PE on the oval also managed to pull it off! Ah, yes… life is best when a little ‘school spice’ is added from time to time!
Congratulations to Jordana, Mia and Georgia who participated in the Perth Weetbix Tryathlon on Sunday 30th March – a fabulous effort girls! The event is held at Langley Park in East Perth and starts with a swim in the Swan River, followed by a ride and run on the specially designed Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon course. It is always great to hear about children from our school who are using their time to keep fit, to have fun and to set themselves a personal challenge. Way to go girls!
