What is Act-Belong-Commit?
Act-Belong-Commit is a comprehensive health promotion campaign that encourages individuals to take action to protect and promote their own mental wellbeing and encourages organisations that provide mentally healthy activities to promote participation in those activities.
The A-B-C guidelines for positive mental health provide a simple approach that we can adopt to become more mentally healthy:
act – keep mentally, physically, socially and spiritually active: take a walk, say g’day, read a book, do a crossword, dance, play cards, stop for a chat…
act – join a book club, take a cooking class, be more involved in groups you are already a member of, go along to community events…
act – take up a cause, help a neighbour, learn something new, take on a challenge, volunteer…
Being active, having a sense of belonging and having a purpose in life all contribute to happiness and good mental health.
The soccer team played their best game of the year! After going into the half time break 0-0, we had a couple of early chances however St Munchin’s hit the front with an early goal. Then with about 10 mins to go, we were unlucky to concede a penalty and we went down 2 – 0.
Aedan had an amazing first half as our goalkeeper while Aiden, Sherwyn and Dylan a;so worked hard all day. A really top effort by all St Emilie’s players!
Mr Dan Naden
Both St.Emilie’s teams played very well yesterday.
Blue Team played extremely well and were excited to win their first match for the comp.
The Gold Team enjoyed a good win also.
All players showed great sportsmanship and were very gracious winners. Mrs Fowler and I are very proud of the girls’ attitude and desire to improve each week.
Miss Kara McHutchison
The team played extremely well. They were the first to the ball all game, they tackled well and they took plenty of great marks.
Despite all of our efforts, our inaccuracies cost us for much of the game. It took us until the last 5 minutes of the game to hit the lead with 2 quick goals from Will and Kobe. We had a number of minor injuries, however the boys showed some real determination and fortitude and as a team they worked so well together to claim their first win.
The St Emilie’s footy team defeated St. Munchins last Friday.
St Emilie’s: 3.13. 31
St Munchins: 2.4. 16
