Every Wednesday morning Pre Primary Blue are joined by parent helpers for Literacy Rotations! We rotate around five different activities in our five groups playing games and activities that help us develop our literacy skills. After this our brains are ready for our Crunch and Sip break! We love having our parents in the classroom to help – thanks Mums and Dads!
To celebrate our special Dads on Father’s Day we invited our VIP’s into our classroom to join us for some fun! There were sports activities, seed planting and even fishing to do in our outdoor space! Inside we set up some of our favourite activities like block building, play dough and drawing. We made fancy sparkly crowns for our Dads to wear and they looked like royal Kings! Before the special day we carefully drew a portrait of our Dad. We thought really hard about what they looked like, their favourite clothes and what they liked to do. They looked amazing! We displayed them on the day and we will be sending them home for our Dad to keep. We absolutely loved sharing our Pre Primary activities with our Dads! We hope they had a fantastic time also!
We were very lucky to have our grandparents and special guests come and join us for a ‘show and tell’ about their past. We learnt so many new things and it was very interesting. We couldn’t believe that photos used to take up to a week to be printed and that there once was a $2 note! We even got to meet a doll that could walk along with you! Wow, what a great morning! Thank you to those special guests who shared their wonderful memories from the past!
After the ‘show and tell’ we had morning tea together and then had lots of fun playing old-fashioned games. Some of the games we enjoyed playing with our special guests were hop scotch, elastics, skipping and bocce.
Some of us even enjoyed some dancing! We taught the grandparents some new moves!
Thank you to all the grandparents for coming! This is a learning experience that we will remember for many years to come and will enjoy sharing it with others when we reflect on our own past when we grow up!!
