Dear Mums and Dads
After spending the last two days with staff engaging in some professional development and preparing for our return to school on Monday, I am once again very reassured that your children are in very safe and very dedicated hands this year!
A very special thank you to Chloe and Pat for their wonderful generosity in opening the Uniform Shop on the school hols – you are both so special and we are very grateful for all your hard work and the dedication you give to this role in our school.
All staff have been busy preparing for the start of school for some time now and there is real excitement in the air! Rest and rejuvenation are of course so important for us all, to reconnect with family and friends and to ‘go slow’ for a while. We really hope that you and your families have also enjoyed some special downtime together.
Once the rush of Christmas and the excitement of New Year are over, teachers (and Leadership Teams) start thinking school again and we are awash with new ideas, strategies, resources, plans, partnerships, programs, proformas, accountability documents, games, collaborative initiatives and more that we are going to employ for the new year, to help motivate, engage, connect with, support and faciltate authentic learning for each and every student in our school!
It is a huge job being an educator, but a wonderful job … exhausting and challenging at times, but inspiring, creative, uplifting, intellectually rigorous, joy-filled and quite simply a blessing!
This coming Wednesday evening the 3rd February, we look forward to meeting with you all here at school. For more information please see the web post under ‘Messages’.
We have a number of wonderful new families joining us this year from all over the world and from other parts of Australia. Welcome to you all and we hope you really enjoy your time here in our school community.
Looking forward tossing you tomorrow everyone. Please be especially vigilant driving into the drive through – go slow, be patient and have your family name sign ready to go!
Hoping you all have a smooth start and while there may be a few little ones with some tears, rest assured we are all here to help where needed so try not to worry.
Regards, Tania Thuijs
