Our writing focus for the second half of the term has been on procedures. After reading the story Windy Day by Jill Eggleton, we used a variety of materials to create a crown similar to the crown worn by the King in the story.
This fun and creative activity also helped us with our procedure writing. We have learnt that procedures follow a particular structure – they have a title, a goal, a list of materials and steps. We have been really focusing on using these steps, in the correct order. We have also tried to remember to use a verb at the beginning of each step.
We are on our way to becoming really clever writers – and great crown makers too!
Our finished masterpieces were definitely fit for a Queen or King! They were very colourful and well thought out!
Our procedures were pretty good too!
