It has been a very eventful and exciting week in Year 1G!
On Tuesday MacKillop House celebrated to Feast Day of Mary MacKillop. We wowed St Emilies with our House Assembly by singing our MacKillop song and our House cheer.
This week we learnt about a new fruit called a lychee and it is a part of Miss Foong’s Chinese Culture.
We wrote a report on the lychee fruit and we even got to eat some lychee’s.
For some of us it was our first time tasting a lychee!
There were mixed reviews 🙂
We were also very lucky and had a visit from some Year 1 and Year 2 parents for our Cultural Fair.
We would like to thank these mums and dads for coming in to share their different cultures with all of us.
A special thank you to Mrs O’Donnell who looked beautiful in her traditional Philippines outfit.
On our classroom window there is a painting of the world. Surrounding this world are our handprints with our names. We decorated our hands to reflect our personality. This art piece reminds us that even though we are all different we are also very similar. We should accept others and treat everyone to same no matter where in the world they come from.
