We have been super busy!
We are enjoying learning about Australian money – in particular being able to recognise, order and describe Australian coins. Some of our friends even brought in very old Australian money for us to have a look at and compare to the money we have today.
We have had fun playing ‘Celebrity Coin Heads’ where we have to guess what coin is stuck to our forehead! This is a great game to help us with one our mathematics outcomes – being able to describe coins! We even had some tricky questions like ‘do I have an animal that hops?’ and ‘do I have 12 sides on me?’ – this game sure makes us laugh!
Our Cultural Fair was a huge success! A big thank you to Mrs Hardy who so willingly shared her South African culture with us…and her many tasty treats too! We had a lovely morning walking around the cultural tables learning new facts about the clothing, food, music, plants and animals from the cultures present in our school. It was great to see Mrs O’Donnell share her Filipino culture with us too!
We are really enjoying our guided inquiry topic of celebrating cultures!
