On Friday night, the 18th of August, 40 talented students represented St Emilies in the Creative Dance section of the Catholic Performing Arts Festival.
They danced with precision, emotion and heart and truly reflected our theme of ‘Homeless Youth’.
As part of our whole school focus on ‘Social Justice’, the students danced a piece that reflected their own thoughts and questions about homeless kids in our world. Candles were used to symbolise the light of Christ as a beacon of hope.
To the students, we are beyond proud of each and everyone of you. You gave it your all and danced beautifully. Thank you for all of your effort and commitment this year. Congratulations and well done!

Below is the introduction to our dance for 2017
To be without a home or a family. The feeling is an empty one.
What would people think? How would they see you? Would they even see you at all?
What does it mean to be truly homeless? Without love, without feeling, without light.
All we can do is hold the light of Christ close to us.
And we hope.
Hope that everything will be alright.
