Last Monday, we took Three year 6 teams to compete against a number of other local primary schools in our very first Basketball Carnival.
We entered 2 boys teams and 1 girls team into the tournament.
The Tournament was played at Lakeside recreation centre in Bibra lake. Each of our teams played in 3 qualifying games, with the top side from each Pool to play Finals!
Our Boys A Team went through the tournament undefeated and played some outstanding basketball, highlighted by a brilliant passing game.
They made it through to the Grand Final, where they defeated All Saints 36-8!
These boys worked extremely well as a team and have now qualified for the State Championship series to be held in November.
Our Boys B Team and Our Girls team did not manage to qualify for the finals, however their attitude, effort and team work was also to be commended.
The sportsmanship shown by St.Emilie’s children was again a real standout on the day!
A very big thank you to Mr and Mrs Forrest, who were a huge help on the day. Providing uniforms, coaching and assisting with scoring was all very much appreciated!
Thanks also to Miss Corkhill , Mr Munro and Jacob Aquino for giving up their time to coach.
We also had a fantastic turnout of parent support during the day.
Thank you to any parents that gave up their time to support our children and assisted on the day.
We now look forward to our Boys A team competing in their next Tournament!
