In Week 6 we celebrated Book Week. We dressed up as our favourite book character and enjoyed sharing this character and our chosen book with our friends and Year 5 buddy. We also were very lucky to watch an incursion performance for Book Week 2017 called, ‘Super Duper’.
During week 7 we celebrated Fathers Day by immersing ourselves in many different activities.
We really enjoyed making our personalised message key rings and Minion cards!
We also made an acrostic poem to share with our dads!
To top it all off we presented our special Fathers Day Assembly item after the Fathers Day Breakfast!
This week we began looking at Aboriginal Dream Time stories.
We have read a few of these books now and are simply captivated!
Miss Foong showed us the front cover of the story ‘How the Kangaroos got their Tails’ and we then wrote our own predictions and created a chalk art piece.
We cannot wait to show these at Open Night next week!
We have also been participating in our ‘Hand eye’ Clinic.
Our coaches help us with many different hand eye coordination skills through playing tennis.
Some of the games we really like are ‘Jail’ and ‘Countdown’.
We have also learnt how to swing a forehand and a backhand shot.
We are looking forward to learning the Serve shot next.
Its always so much fun in Year One!
