Welcome back everyone to our last term in Kindy!
We’ve dived right in and had lots of fun finding out things and being with our friends.
Confidence levels have been high as explorations and experimenting began as soon as our doors opened!
Our “Little Scientists” work area has been very busy with everyone trying out different ways to move water, building water pipes, pouring
with all kinds of containers and sharing our ideas about the properties of water.
There have been some perplexed faces when the water didn’t go through the pipes as expected and “wooshed” out of a different place instead!
Thank you to our families who helped us to collect a water sample over the holidays to bring to Kindy.
Samples were taken from wide ranging places, such as the sea, lakes, Canning River, creeks, ponds, rainwater, waterfall, Murray River, tap and swimming pool.
One of our families collected a sample from a lake in Kalbarri where the water is PINK!
We looked carefully at all the samples collected and noticed that that the water was not all blue!
We thought about the colours of the body of water our sample had come from , then made a painting using those colours with water colour paints.
Then we cut out a water drop and painted it with water from our sample bottle.
You can see from the display of our paintings that you can see a multitude of colours in water in the environment!
