Below is a quick synopsis of the Inter-School Athletics Carnival, which was held during week 3 of this Term. Another great day was had by all!
The carnival involved a Jumps & Throws day, which was made up of Long Jump, Shot Put, Turbo Javelin and the 400m running events.
We concluded the carnival on the Friday with the Track events, consisting of the 100m, 200m, Team Games and Relays.
The scoring from both of these carnival days are combined to give us our winning school, as well as our individual champions.
St.Emilie’s, once again performed very strongly over both carnival days and managed to finish 2nd overall!
the points were as follows:
- St.Joseph’s 1584
- St.Emilie’s 1490
- Sacred Heart 1371
- St.Munchin’s 1286
- Notre Dame 1280
- Xavier 1158
All the students who were chosen to represent St.Emilie’s can be extremely proud of themselves.
Having such excellent results does not occur without the students being committed to getting the best out of themselves. There were a number of early morning training sessions that students attended and it was great to see such enthusiasm amongst our competitors.
A big thank you to all parents who turned up and cheered us on and to Mr Munro, Mrs Harvey and Miss Agustsson who also provided fantastic assistance on the day.
Congratulations to AMY PASSEUR who was awarded Year 4 CHAMPION GIRL and to TAYLAH HABOLDT who won the Yearn6 RUNNER UP CHAMPION GIRL, missing out on being overall champion by just 1 point! A wonderful achievement girls!
St Emilie’s once again achieved great results – both on and off the field!
