|A big thank you goes out to all of the schools that participated in Mildew Mania 2017! Your experiment records (if you found mildew or not) are very helpful and much appreciated.
By now all of the participating schools should have received their certificates and stickers, just like the class from St Emilie’s Catholic Primary School.
In WA, powdery mildew cost the agriculture economy up to $100 million dollars annually through chemical control and lost yield. Researchers at Curtin University’s Centre for Crop and Disease Management aim to give plant breeders and growers the tools they require to control this disease and therefore reduce the state’s losses.
