THE SUN CHANGES EVERYTHING!
The emphasis within this module is on the influence of the SUN’S energy on a child’s everyday life and how the SUN’S energy creates changes.
We have a class mascot called FREDA the frilled neck lizard, who introduces us to Reptiles and their need for the SUN’S light energy.
We have researched the REPTILE family and noted their characteristics and need for the SUN’S energy to hunt for food and escape from predators.
We are following a sequence of activities to investigate the power of the SUN.
We identified how we warm and cool our bodies, what we know about the SUN, SUN safe behaviours and conduct simple experiments to investigate how a range of familiar objects can change if left in sunlight.
Our reptile Park has been a very popular spot in Kindy as the lizards, snakes, turtles and crocodiles have adventures in the habitat we created for them.
Look out for all of this and our Observational Drawings Of Freda , along with other learning experiences at OPEN NIGHT Wednesday of Week 9 of term.
Hope to see you there!
