6th March 2018 – Term One, Week 6
MATHS – NUMBER FUN!
We have been exploring numbers up to 10! We have been enjoying counting!
We placed goggly eyes onto our funny creatures to match the correct number.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, LITERACY, FINE MOTOR & ARTS
We have been creating some wonderful works of art! Our very own self portraits that depict “All About Me!” We used mirrors and discussed the special features that make us all individual and special. We read and viewed the text, “Guess the Baby” by Simon French and we played our very own game of “Guess the Baby” with all of our baby photos. We discussed how God created each one of us and how we were all babies once!
SCIENCE INQUIRY, LITERACY, & TECHNOLOGY
We have been learning all about FREDA the frilled neck lizard and the power of the SUN. We enjoyed some sensory play with FREDA and her reptile friends. We used the internet to conduct a google search and find out about a question posed by one of the students, “What do lizards eat?” Following our research and the student’s interest in this topic, we discovered that lizards eat, eggs, bugs, insects and berries. Reptiles are nocturnal and hunt at night. They can also CAMOUFLAGE to hide from predators. This is another word we have been learning all about!
ART EXPRESSION & LITERACY
We painted our very own interpretations of the SUN, using various warm colours and completed oral language retells to describe the SUN!
