Year One was luckily enough to visit Browne’s Dairy!
In class we have been talking about the features of places, the processes involved in food production as well as learning about the animals involved in these process as part of report writing genre.
We visited Browne’s Dairy to see our new found knowledge in action! We saw a real cow…and got to have a go at milking her…learnt how to make yoghurt as well as taste test a few samples, learnt new facts about the production of milk and saw milk bottles being processed on the factory floor.
Farmer Damien was a great tour guide! He even dressed Mrs Roberto in some hygiene attire and explained all the things the Browne’s workers have to wear…hair and beard net, coat with studs not buttons, no jewellery or makeup and safe footwear…we want no nasty surprises in our yoghurt tub!
Mrs Roberto was a great sport and happily posed for a photo!
We had a great afternoon and were excited to bring home a special Browne’s Dairy bag along with a yummy sample of flavoured milk! Thank you to the wonderful mums and dads who came with us!
We secretly loved the bus ride too…next time we might just drive around in the bus for the day!
Thanks Browne’s Dairy!
