What a fabulous evening it was last night – thank you VERY much for your wonderful presence and good humour at our very first community COLOUR RUN!
A very special thank you to the P&F team for all their hard work and planning:
- Bec Richards
- Mel Lucente
- Alison McEniery
- Tiffany Gates
- and Nicole Grima
(Bec’s Mum was due to fly back to the UK the same night, so it was particularly generous of her to stay and make sure everything ran smoothly.)
A HUGE thank you to OUR SPECIAL PARENT HELPERS who assisted at the bbq and around the course – you were really wonderful!
A few unsung heroes are people like Alison McEniery who always does so much ‘behind the scenes’ – at all P&F functions.
Chris McEniery who always turns up to support his amazing wife and last night was no exception – he slaved away over a hot bbq to cook sausages all night long! Both Alison and Chris quietly and generously serve our community with little fuss or fanfare and as this is their daughter’s final year here at St Em’s, they will leave big shoes to fill 🙂
Paul Gates, Board member and St Em’s dad ,organised all our signs including the many colour splats around our school – from Discus Digital Printing – despite his very busy life – they all looked fabulous!
Glenn Cogger our groundsman, spent the better part of the day pruning, checking that all areas were safe for the run, marked out the track, set up all the bollards and bunting and stayed to pack everything away at the end of the night..
Anthony Bruyns, one of our Year 6 dads gave up much of his own time organising our sound for the evening and he did a fantastic job, amidst visiting his daughter in hospital after an appendix operation.
Mark Grima, one of our very talented parents, once again did an awesome job entertaining us all!
Mrs Gillian Norris, Mrs Rachael Visser and Miss Olivia Norris – our incredible Admin team, fielded phone calls, followed up queries, coordinated rosters, and so much more, ,always with a smile and a spring in their step – you are so special!
The BEE DELIGHTED Coffee Van provided a great service and are good friends of St Emilie’s.
Unfortunately, the HOLY CHIP FOOD TRUCK let us down and consequently this put our bbq helpers under a lot of pressure to provide extra meals that had not been accounted for.
We sincerely apologise to those who had to queue for their meal and we really thank those who were able to see how hard all our volunteers were working to solve the problem and waited so patiently and graciously.
From the smilies on children’s faces, much fun was had and many lovely memories were made!
To those who couldn’t make the night but dropped in a donation – you are simply wonderful!
And to those who had tickets to see Taylor Swift, but still zoomed around the course so your children didn’t miss the event – you too are absolutely awesome and we hope you managed to ‘shake it off’ and have a fabulous time there too!
