This week we had our first Three Way Interview for the year. After reviewing our FreshGrade Digital Portfolio with our families, we met with our parents and teachers to check in and discuss our goals that we have worked hard to set.
Before the interview, we were feeling lots of different emotions. Some people were a little bit nervous, some felt confident, but we were all excited! After the interview, we felt really proud of our achievements and the way we spoke about our goals. As a class we have put together a reflection about the importance of goal setting and some examples of goals we have set in Year Four.
We set goals so that we can achieve things that we haven’t yet achieved. Mila
We set two types of goals – academic goals and personal goals. An academic goal involves your learning. Isabel Wee
A personal goal is something to do with your behaviour and your mindset. Abigail
An example of an academic goal is “I will improve at finding an unknown quantity in a number sentence. To achieve this goal I will practice this skill every day.” Ahnya
An example of a personal goal is “I will use my time wisely when working and not socialise with friends.” Stella
“To achieve this goal, I will sit away from my friends and focus on the task.” Abbey
We know that our goals need to be specific, measurable, realistic and that we need to be able to achieve them in an appropriate time-frame. We are aiming to achieve our goals by the Term 3 Three Way Interviews.
We are looking forward to checking in along the way and meeting again in Term 3 to review our goals and see how we went!
