Term 2 – Week 7 – 15th June 2019
This week was all about worms and robots!
The children observed, explored and enjoyed being up close and personal with some of God’s tiniest, but most important creatures…wonderful, wriggly WORMS! Worms play a vital part in sustainability.
Do you have a compost bin or worm farm at home? If not, these Pre-Primary children can advise you on how to set one up and live more sustainably by making simple and easy changes to your everyday practices at home!
We viewed some interesting clips about worms. Here is one of them…take a look:
We are looking forward to our Worm Farm Incursion next week and the children will bring home their very own mini worm farm to share and teach their families about!
During our guided reading groups, we read a book called, “I am a Robot.” Through the text we learned what a blueprint is and viewed various different blueprints of robots. We learned that a blueprint requires labels to show the parts included in the design. We then began to plan and design our very own robots! Drawing and labelling our designs was a lot of fun! The next step was to write a list of all the materials required to create and build our robots. We are now collecting materials and next week we are going to make a prototype of our designs!
