We celebrated St Emilie’s Day by learning more about the special Saint our school is named after. We learnt lots of interesting facts about her life and discovered she was a lot like us…she had a mum and dad, two younger brothers and was lucky enough to go to school. It was amazing to learn about all the wonderful things she did to help those in need.
We created portraits of St Emilie thinking about adding appropriate detail, filling the space and experimenting with shades of colour. We also thought about how we can be more like St Emilie in our everyday words and actions.
“I can be like St Emilie by helping people who are hurt” – Aisha
“I can be like St Emilie by being a good person and donating things I don’t need anymore and give them to charity” -Alicia
“I can be like St Emilie by sharing, listening and being grateful” -Rhys
“I can be like St Emilie by sharing my toys with people” -Thomas
We were so proud of our finished portraits! They look stunning!
