Last Thursday, saw St.Emilie’s compete in the 2019 State Basketball Champions Cup.
To qualify for this event, our boys and girls team had both won our regional carnival earlier in the term.
Our boys team were outstanding. They finished on top of their pool without losing a game.
They then won their Quarter Final in convincing fashion.
Unfortunately for the boys, they lost their Semi-Final by 1 point to the eventual champions ( Good Shepherd).
Our girls team played 5 games; which included 2 wins, 2 losses and a heartbreaking Tie.
This cost our girls a spot in the Quarter-Finals.
The girls played with great tenacity, but also demonstrated terrific sportsmanship.
Parent’s from opposing schools went out of their way to find me and mention how impressed they were with the sportsmanship and attitude our girls demonstrated.
Once again, a big thank you to Mr. Carroll and Mr. Cottrell for coaching our teams.
We were also very lucky to have such great support from our parents, which i know the kids really appreciated.
