Welcome back to Term Two!
We have loved being back in our classroom with our friends and teachers! We miss our friends who are continuing their learning remotely and can’t wait to see them again soon!
We have been busy this week…
Mrs Wishy Washy
Our book focus for this week was “Mrs Wishy Washy on TV”. We enjoyed listening to the story and searching for words with the ‘sh’ digraph in the text. We drew a character portrait of the main character -Mrs Wishy Washy. We connected with the text by writing about when we have enjoyed water based activities like going to the beach or Adventure World. Have a look at our amazing character portraits!
We enjoyed listening to the story Anzac Ted by Belinda Landsberry. We talked about the significance of Anzac Day and shared what we did to remember this special day…some of us made Anzac cookies at home while others stood at the end of our driveways holding candles. We created our own Anzac Teds at school and at home! We thought carefully about each detail…we think they look great!
We have been busy learning about the features of 2D shapes. We have talked about the number of sides and corners for each shape as well as naming each shape correctly. We had fun listening and dancing to shape songs and loved creating our own shape robots! We had to think about the shapes we wanted to use, concentrated hard on our cutting, thought creatively and even named our robots!
Where ever we might be…we are still learning!
A huge thank you to all our families for your kind words and support!
Mrs McKenzie, Miss de Gooijer, Mrs Roberto and Mrs Andrews
