Our guided inquiry focus for this term is all about exploring what life was like in the past.
When we are curious about the past we find out things that help us understand the way we live now.
As stated in the WA Curriculum, we aim to “explore a range of sources from the past” and “identify and compare features of objects from the past and present”.
Throughout Week 4 each of the children had the opportunity to stand up in front of the class and present an item or photograph from the past. We were able to learn from each other about many different things (some we had never even seen before!) and had lots of questions.
This was also a great opportunity to practise our skills of speaking to an audience. We all worked very hard to have good eye contact, speak with a loud, clear voice and stand up straight and tall.
We have also been learning about different styles of poetry and have practised writing acrostic poems with our Year 6G buddies!
We can’t wait to share more of our learning with you at the 3 way interviews on Wednesday 1st June!
