On Tuesday the 16th June the Year 2 classes had some special visitors from The Worm Shed. Kevin, Samantha and Cameron came to St Emilie’s to teach us all about red/tiger worms!!
We learnt how important worms are to our environment and that HALF our rubbish can be eaten by worms.
Kevin taught us that a worm farm is a sustainable way to recycle some of our rubbish and reuse the “worm poo” in our garden to help everything grow!
We really enjoyed the talk Kevin gave us and the opportunity to touch and have a close look at the worms.
We loved making our own worm farms and are very excited to see what will happen to them!
On Friday the Year Two’s will be bringing their worm farms home, along with an information sheet on how to look after them. We hope you can find a special place for the worms at home and that they can help your garden grow!
